Winner of Jimbo hook from first 50 Participants - CrisKad
Congratulations CrisKad on winning the Jimbo hook in the drawing from the first 50 participants that signed up. I am sure that you will love it.
Remember that the Traveling hook project and the Scrumble are just beginning and we will have more participants for both. The more people we tell about FARA, the more that may be willing to help us out with the project. Tell your friends, your relatives, your co-workers and we will never stop adding to the participant list or to those that are made aware of the project to help raise money for research.
Also remember that Jimbo is still making chopstick hooks to raise funds. Just click on his link on the left to go to his blog, donate and get one today. Donate more than once and give a Jimbo chopstick hook as a gift. I don't think you will find a more unique gift for those people that have everything.

50 participants signed up to scrumble or travel.
We now have 46 people signed up for either a part of the scrumble or the traveling hook III. I think this is great and I look forward to seeing all the great effort involved.
Four more people and Jimbo will put every-one's name into a ????and draw a name of the lucky recipient of a Jimbo hook.
edit : added three names that worked on the scrumble this past weekend, that I don't have info for. If you know who you are please send me info. Also another C'ville member signed up tonight . We are now are 50 and growing , can we get another 50?

"Jessica" hook is traveling
The hook project is off the ground now. It is going to Tristi in Ohio first. I wanted to send it somewhere close, hoping it would arrive to her before the week was over. Being it is is cold right now I even crocheted it a little cover to keep warm. I sent it out in Jimbo's original box as any of us that have ever received a hook from Jimbo knows what that little box is the minute we glance it in our mailbox. Of course it is also wrapped in Jimbo's famous red felt as I wanted to make sure that it had an extra cushiony ride , no bumpy rides for our precious delivery.

The Jessica Hook has arrived
I received a wonderful package from Jimbo today. The Jessica hook is in my hands as I type (hate to let it go). I am hoping to send it on the way to the first participant by the end of the week.
I am making a list and checking it twice. I am not closing sign-ups for this as I want to make as many items as possible until the hook wears out. The hook will travel as long as necessary and as long as there are participants wanting to contribute, either to the FARA blog, through Jimbo's blog, or by making squares and sending them to me. Please let us know what you plan on doing with the hook. I will be sending out invitations to author the bog and we can use it as a journal.
We will be making afghans and if we choose to make other donations, that is totally your choice. Any donations are welcome , just use the hook, gain awareness and share the love.
As a group I would like to have 8" squares made and sent to me for Jessica's afghan and I will also be putting together afghans to auction with the proceeds going to FARA.

The hook is completed
Jimbo has the hook on his blog, it is beautiful. I am looking forward to holding it and knowing that I can help a great cause at the same time. It has been decided that we will all make a square to make an afghan for Jessica ( after whom the hook is named),also any additional squares will be made into afghans for others afflicted with FA
We would also appreciate any donation to FARA to help find a cure. All donations are accepted. Click on the link at Jimbo's blog to make a donation through him(PayPal) or to the FARA link in this blog to make it directly from their site. As soon as we get a few more participants I can give you a general idea of when you may receive this wonderful gift that Jimbo has made to help raise funds for FA research.
Thank you Jimbo for your kindness, let's start crocheting and get those donations rolling in.

Traveling hook for Freidreich's Ataxia
Jimbo from Jimbo's Front Porch http://jimbosfrontporch.blogspot.com/ wants to start a traveling hook project to assist in the cure for Freidreich's Ataxia.
He would like people to use a hook that he donates to create items to sell and then donate the proceeds from that sale to http://www.curefa.org/.
I will compile a list of those wishing to help and set up a traveling schedule, the hook will travel approximately once a week, as it will depend on the amount of time required to make your project. We do required delivery confirmation as that way we can watch where it is, that is part of the fun. The hook will begin at one spot and then "travel" to the next person on the list until it reaches the last person, with a long list of participants, it could travel for a year.
I would love you to join the effort. You may e-mail your information to me, including e-mail and street address to angelfire4u4ever at hotmail dot com. I will send you an invitation to help author this blog so that you may post pictures and post your experience with the traveling hook. I hope to have many people help with this effort.
